About Us

Mix Coworking started in 2018 out of our own need for space to work, beginning as a tiny workspace in the heart of Clonakilty, offering the essentials: a desk, internet connection and good vibes. 

In March 2021, Mix Coworking expanded and relocated to 8 Wolfe Tone Street, having worked with the owners to bring the beautiful, derelict town-centre building back to life. The high ceilings, exposed beams, brick walls, muted colours and greenery create a calm oasis in the centre of town. 

Between 2020 and 2022, Mix Coworking received two rounds of funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development; the first was through Secad Partnership CLG (EAFRD - Europe Investing in Rural Areas - LEADER 2014-2020, West Cork LAG), and the second was through The Connected Hubs Fund https://connectedhubs.ie.

We are a family team, Rachel Kelleher and Michael Kote. We started working remotely in 2015, and met working and travelling with Remote Year Inc. We have called Clonakilty home since 2017, and continue to enjoy travelling and exploring West Cork with our sun 🔆 Caelan. 

It's our passion to support remote workers, professionals, freelancers, artists, company owners, and parents with a calm, professional, positive, and reliable work environment.

Rachel heads up and manages operations at MIX. With a BCommerce degree from UCD, Rachel is currently completing a Diploma in Interior Design with The Interior Design Academy of Ireland. Rachel volunteers with The Clonakilty Lodge and is a trained volunteer with Psycare Ireland. With ties to North-West Cork and Clare, Rachel is Dublin-born and grew up in Jeddah, with her family living in different places across the Middle East. Rachel is interested in creating and supporting projects akin to MIX. 

Michael studied Studio Art at UCSB (Santa Barbara), and then jumped into the travel industry with Global Adrenaline, which later became the adventure travel arm of National Geographic Expeditions. In 2015, he packed a backpack and managed Commercial Operations for Remote Year in Europe & Africa. Mike has a passion for improving workflow efficiencies within distributed teams and is currently freelancing for Retrokit and CLE Abroad. Interested in local tourism and experiences, Mike recently got his taxi transfer license to start offering group transfers to music enthusiasts and explorers in the West Cork area!
